Skiing: La Rosiere Wind Direction: 100+ kph Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: -12 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Woke to sunshine and a howling gale !!! so another walk to La Ros. for
almond croissants and to check the lift situation. The only lifts open were
the button lifts so we decided to wait till after lunch to see what
happened. So after chicken baguettes we notice from our balcony the Petit
Bois lift is open . So we decide to brave the conditions and have a few
runs down the Marmotte, getting to the piste along the paths was difficult
with the wind in your face!!!
We then head over to La Ros. While the others do a bit of gift shopping I
head down the Fontaina and out on the longest button in the resort which
was a bit of a nightmare with the 100+ kph winds and the minus 12 temps !!!
but the pistes were understandably quiet and it was good fun skiing in a
sea of wind blown snow !!!!
Sadly the pistes are getting very threadbare and icy and in desperate need
of more snow and lighter winds but tomorrow is our last day so we will just
have to make the most of the conditions.
